7 Year Maze

maze-6

For 7 years, a diligent Japanese custodian worked on the maze you see above. Twitter user @Kya7y (and daughter of the artist) found the drawing recently and posted it for the world to see.  Apparently, it was completed almost 30 years ago in his spare time using some pen and ink on A1 size paper (841 x 594 mm).

What is maybe most impressive, however, is that the drawing was made with very little planning.

He simply drew the maze as it popped into his mind.

I hope this is sold as a print some day.

I’ll hang it on my wall, and spend the next 7 years trying to solve it.

Rubik’s Brain

June 10th, 2012 | Brain

Rubik’s Cube is a 3-D mechanical puzzle invented in 1974by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Ernő Rubik.

If you think that Rubik’s cubes are a bit too easy for you, you may want to take a crack at artist Jason Freeny’s rendition shown above.  Jason is known for displaying the inner workings of Hello Kitty and Nemo, but I think this project may be his best.  I’m not sure if this is for sale anywhere.  I did some searching around the internet but to no avail.  Please let me know if you find it anywhere.

Here’s some photos of his construction process:

Jeez, this thing looks ridiculously hard to solve… See all of the construction photos on his facebook site.

Check out more of Jason’s work at his website.
