The Garden of Your Mind

Mister Rogers Remixed | Garden of Your Mind

WOW!  This is definitely the best Auto-Tuned song out there.

The Garden of Your Mind Mister Rogers mashup was created by John Boswell from the Symphony of Science — a project to deliver scientific knowledge in musical form.  I’m not sure what scientific knowledge is being given here, but it is great.  It really brings back all kinds of nostalgia for me.

“Magic Fly” by Space

Magic Fly by Space

My amigo from Buenos Aires, Argentina, DJ kid Rich, sent me this video of the band Space.  They are a French electronic band from the city of Marseille.  This song “Magic Fly” was released in 1977 and rose to #2 on the British charts.  The band didn’t last long as they were torn apart by gravity in 1981 after selling over 10 million albums in 5 years.

I’m not sure where all the members are these days, but I’m hoping for a reunion tour!

‘Daniel’ & ‘Space Babe’ by Twin Sister

May 22nd, 2012 | Space

Here’s a few tracks from the chillwave band Twin Sister.  They hail from Long Island, New York, and the band consists of lead singer Andrea Estella backed up by 4 skilled musicians: keyboardist Dev Gupta, bassist Gabe D’Amico, guitarist-singer Eric Cardona, and drummer Bryan Ujueta.

Andrea Estella really steals the show in my opinion.  Her style, voice, and stage presence are all top notch.

Head over to their website for some tunes, photos, etc.

Holographic Tupac at Coachella

April 16th, 2012 | Robot

WOW!  This is a holographic performance by Tupac Shakur at this year’s Coachella music festival!  I first posted about holographic music when I started this site with Hatsune Miku, a holographic Japanese star, and I knew that we would be seeing more of this in the future.  And the future has arrived!  I am really impressed by the realism, and I can’t wait to see future performances from The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain…

Music Awakens The Soul

April 11th, 2012 | Brain

Watch this old man wake up to some of his favorite music.  It’s pretty incredible to see the power of some good tunes.  I’m sure there are some pretty deep neural connections in the brain that can be aroused even in the wake of serious mental deterioration.

The clip is from a new documentary, titled “Alive Inside”, that follows social worker Dan Cohen, executive director of the non-profit Music & Memory, as he brings iPods to a nursing home.

It’s pretty breathtaking, and it surely gives credence to music therapy.
